Family Secrets Discovered (Tha Hauser Family Book 0) by Layla Wilcox is an Adult Contemporary Romance. It is the first book in a short serial.There are quite a few editing mistakes, although they are not very noticeable. Just to give you an idea of what they are like here is a sample.
"He was few years ahead of me...." Should read, "He was a few years ahead of me...."
This is one of the editing errors I found. Almost always a small connecting word such as 'a' or 'in'.
It is a VERY short read. I don't have a problem with that. I actually have come to enjoy short serials when they are written and priced appropriately. That is the problem I have with both this book and the one I read from this same author a few days ago. I looked up the price and books in this serial. Here is the information I found;

Family Secrets Vol 1, about 108 pages, is 3 stories. Story 1 is this story. So you get 2 other stories. Deduct the 38 to 40 pages of story #1, that leaves about 70 pages for #2 & 3. Price at the time of this review, $2.99.
Family Secrets Vol 2, about 100 pages. It is story #4 & 5 plus a bonus novella. All in 100 or less pages. Cost $2.99.
It's not a bad story. The subject and characters have potential. Just not enough to justify the pricing. You don't feel invested in the characters, and when you add in the editing mistakes, it all just leaves you unsatisfied.
I cannot in all honesty recommend this book.

Jen life isn't what you would call boring because it is dull to her after reading some erotica romance books in her book club. She wants to spice up her love life with her husband Mark. But with his ocd ways she doesn't think it would work out. So when she gets a offer she can't refuse to get a little help at a shop. She jumps at the chance to change her life forever. Now if only she can get her husband on board with the change... Will he try or will he say no?
Layla does such a wonderful job on her books.
I loved Jen in this story. She was a bored house wife that needed more spice in her relationship. She was just uncertain how to get there. Her and her husband seem to work on a schedule. She never dreamed how much her life would change when she walked into the adult store called Secrets.
I think Blondie was the best thing that happen to Jen. She put her on the right track on the path of seducing her husband.
Mark had to be surprised to come home to a new Jen. There is not doubt that he loved her but to see her put forth the effort had to mean more to him then anything. There are some hot and steamy parts. This was a great short story.
There were parts of this book that had me grinning or laughing out loud because it sounded like me...lol
Jan feels like there is no spark left in her marriage anymore. So she takes a trip to a shopped called Secrets, to help her with all of the things she could need. Her first trip she is uncomfortable and the purchase she makes helps but isn't exactly what she was looking for. Her second trip there, an emotional release and some girl talk has her leaving the store with a bag full of goodies and a plan. She is having a complete make over in hopes of turning her husband on and bring the spark back into her life. Will this do the trick? Or is her husband not interested I. What she is offering?
I loved Family Secrets Discovered. Family Secrets Discovered is the first book in the Family Secrets Series. I loved that this series is about an older married couple that still loves each other but has been married for so long that the passion has gone out of their marriage and their lives have become routine. Jen can’t take it anymore and wants to spice up her sex life, and so she ends up in a shop called secrets. Her first time there she is uncomfortable because the cashier is a male and so she ends up buying a vibrator. When she goes back the next day she meets Blondie the other owner, who takes her under her wing and with her help they end up finding lingerie, a better vibrator, a video that she got to preview while trying on her new clothes and some of Blondies herbal aphrodisiac tea that works on both males and females. Then Blondie gives her a business card to a salon to have a total makeover. She gets her hair colored and cut, her body waxed, and her makeup professionally done. The she gets ready for her ritual Friday night out with her hubby Mark. Mark comes home not feeling well and so plans change but not by much. Jen has Mark take a shower and drink a glass of Blondies tea made extra strong while she waits for the food that she ordered to arrive. Mark loves Jens makeover, and they both give into the passion that the tea has inspired and fall in love all over again. They end up watching the DVD that Jen had purchased and practiced all of the different positions. I loved all of the passion in this book and you will too. I loved that Jen fights for her marriage instead of just rolling over and letting her marriage die. I can’t wait to read the next book in this series. I received this free book in exchange for an honest review.
